What is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage is clinical, hands-on treatment for a specific musculoskeletal problem. It isn't a relaxation massage. Your therapist assesses posture, movement and the muscles involved, then treats the structures linked to your pain.
Depending on what we find, treatment can include deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching, and dry needling or cupping when suited.

Remedial massage FAQs
-
Do I need a referral? No. You can book directly.

-
Can I claim it on private health insurance? Yes, with most funds under extras cover, when you see one of our remedial-qualified therapists. We process claims on the spot through HICAPS. How much you get back depends on your fund and level of cover.

-
What's the difference between remedial and sports massage? Remedial massage focuses on a specific pain or injury. Sports massage is built around training and recovery. Most sessions use both, so you book the same appointment either way.

-
How many sessions will I need? A recent problem often settles in a few sessions. Long-standing pain usually needs regular sessions for a while, alongside exercises. We'll give you an honest idea after your first visit, and refer you on if massage isn't the right fit.

-
Will it hurt? It can be firm on tight areas, but you stay in control of the pressure. Mild soreness for 24–48 hours is normal.
